RASHFORD RESTED FOR EUROPA LEAGUE CLASH

Marcus Rashford was on the bench for the entire duration of the game as his Manchester United side beat Granada 2-0 at home to seal a 4-0 aggregate win over the Spanish La Liga team in their Europa League round of eight tie.

England international Marcus Rashford got a deserved rest after his recent injury woes which saw him miss the March international break. The Manchester United Academy graduate pulled out of the England squad that faced Andorra, Albania and Poland in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers last month.

RASHFORD RETURNS TO UNITED TRAINING

 

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has returned to team training in time for the Southampton game on Sunday. The Saints welcome Manchester United to the St. Mary’s Stadium later this weekend and Rashford is expected to start the game after recovering from the knock suffered in the last game, a Champions League match with Istanbul Basaksehir FC from the European nation of Turkey.


Rashford picked up a knock during the Champions League matchday four meeting with the Turkish club at Old Trafford and was substituted before the hour mark as a result of the minor injury. He returned to the scoresheet during that game as the England international added a third goal for the Red Devils after the hosts had gone 2-0 up against their Turkish opponents through the brace from Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes. Rashford from United: Top 4 Not Impossible

Marcus Rashford, the star player of Manchester United says finishing in the top 4 in the Premier League is not impossible. Manchester United has experienced an up and down start and presently at the 10th position in their Premier League table with thirteen points. This means they are 10 points behind Leicester and Chelsea placed 3rd and 4th, respectively.

However, Marcus Rashford believes making places in the Champions League is not out of consideration for Manchester United. He feels that once the team plays on the field with full flow, it will be difficult to stop. Rashford stated that it will be pretty difficult to get to the top 4 but it is not impossible. He says that they do not have to focus on other teams; they play their best football when they focus on themselves and their own improvement and they should get back to doing that. That is very simple but at the same time, they should not make it complicated for themselves.

CAN RASHFORD LEAD UNITED TO GLORY?

This season is a special one for Marcus Rashford as he is the undisputed first-choice forward for Manchester United. This is a surprising turn of events as a year ago Lukaku had just returned from a strong World Cup and Rashford was destined for another season on the bench.

However, the sacking of Mourinho last October and arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given the 22-year-old a new lease of life at the club. Solskjaer has always maintained his belief in the England forward and Rashford has to repay the favour this season.

SHEARER: RASHFORD IS THE MAIN MAN

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been in impressive form since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in December. He found the target once again in Wembley as he helped his club to a narrow 1-0 victory over Tottenham, keeping up the pressure on both Arsenal and Chelsea on the league table.

The exciting forward also got his name on the score sheet against Newcastle United two weeks ago and is now firing on all cylinders again.

Mourinho Responds Over De Boer’s Rashford Comments

Following the impressive performance of Marcus Rashford in the game against Liverpool, Frank de Boer praised the England international. He added that it is a “pity” that the 20-year old was playing under Coach Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. The comments certainly angered the Portuguese manager who did not take it lightly.

“I read some quote from the worst manager in the history of the Premier League, Frank de Boer – seven matches, seven defeats, zero goals. He was saying that it is not good for Marcus Rashford to have a coach like me, because the most important thing for me is to win,” Mourinho said.
