RASHFORD RESCUES MANCHESTER UNITED IN CYPRUS AS ARSENAL CRUISE IN UEL

Manchester United avoided further embarrassment after their humiliating defeat to Manchester City by coming from behind to beat Cypriots Omonia Nicosia 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday, while Premier League leaders Arsenal eased past Bodo/Glimt. Marcus Rashford scored twice along with Anthony Martial after both came off the bench in the second half as United recovered after Iran international Karim Ansarifard gave the hosts a shock lead on 34 minutes.

Nikolas Panagiotou pulled one back for Neil Lennon’s Omonia with five minutes to play but United held on for a second win in three Group E outings. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was an unused substitute for United’s 6-3 loss at City last weekend, played the full 90 minutes as he made just his fourth start for the club this season. Erik ten Hag’s side remain second in the group behind Real Sociedad, who made it three straight wins with a 2-0 victory against 10-man Sheriff Tiraspol in Chisinau.          MANCHESTER UNITED EAGER TO AGREE NEW TERMS WITH MARCUS RASHFORD

Man United are committed to keeping Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford for the 2022-2023 campaign despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports. Sportsmail revealed on March 8 that PSG had registered an interest in the England international and the Ligue 1 side launched their first move earlier this week. However, the Red Devils are eager to keep hold of the 24-year-old and agree new terms with the forward this summer. According to ESPN, United have no intention of selling Rashford this summer. The report also states that the Red Devils are eager to extend the forward’s contract at the club.

As it stands, Rashford has less than 12 months left on his existing deal at United. However, there is an option to extend the contract by a further year – keeping him at the club until at least 2024. RASHFORD HOPING TO END GOAL DROUGHT

England attacker Marcus Rashfordwill definitely have ‘return to form’ on his agenda when he takes to the field in the colours of Manchester United this weekend. Marcus Rashford is expected to be in the Manchester United squad for the away game against rivals Leeds United on Sunday. The Manchester United Academy graduate would be hoping to return to scoring form against the Whites at Elland Road at the start of next week.

Marcus Rashford has been very prolific as a Manchester United substitute this season on the back of his return from a shoulder surgery in October, but he has been the opposite as a starter. The attacker has scored four goals in the Premier League as a substitute this season, which is a record amongst all the players. In stark contrast, he has yet to score any goal as a Premier League starter this season.

RASHFORD, OTHERS CRITICISED AGAINST NORWICH CITY

England international Marcus Rashford and the other Manchester United attackers were heavily criticised by Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports while he was giving the analysis of their Premier League clash with hosts Norwich City. Redknapp was not impressed with the lacklustredisplayshown by the Manchester United attacking quartet of Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.

RASHFORD MAKES LIST OF VALUABLE PLAYERS

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been named on the list of the top ten most valuable players in the world. The list of the best players by market value was released via a report from KPMG Football Benchmark. England international Marcus Rashford made the list alongside Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Rashford was fourth in the immediate past list released and had dropped two places to sixth spot for the new list. The England national team player has a market valuation of €118m, which is the same as that of Portugal international Bruno Fernandes in fifth place. Bruno Fernandes was at Sporting Lisbon until the start of last year when he joined the Red Devils in a €60m deal according to Transfermarkt.

Manchester United Marcus Rashford has gotten the Red Devils faithfuls excited on the possibility of what might happen next season after he posted a photo of him and Jadon Sancho together as they returned to training with the England national team.
