OLE SUPPORTS DE GEA

Despite the fact that David de Gea has been nowhere close to his best in the recent months, Ole seems to be throwing his weight behind his first choice shot stopper who has overall been a great servant for United in his 8-year long stint so far.

De Gea has faltered between the sticks quite a few times in the ongoing season, but none of his mistakes would have hurt the Red Devils as much as the last night’s mistake which he committed in an extremely vital Premiership fixture against Chelsea.

United started that game at no. 6 in the table, but a victory could have seen them climb a position up to no. 5 and getting leveled with the Blues on points who are at no. 4. And United with a lead early in the game seemed to be well on track to get the job done.

IAN WRIGHT HITS OUT AT GARRY MONK FOR BURST UP

Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright has massively criticized Leeds United head coach, Gary Monk for his actions after the 37-year-old got in the way of Huddersfield boss, David Wagner during the Yorkshire derby game in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The game at the John Smith’s stadium was leveled 1-1 entering into the final minutes, but Terriers defender, Michel Hefele produced a late goal that sparked celebrations from the crowd.

Huddersfield boss sprinted the entire length of the touchline to celebrate with his players. Much angered by the reaction, the former Swansea boss, Monk stepped in front of the German tactician as he ran past him leading to a brawl between both sets of the teams.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Wright slammed Monk for such an unprofessional display as he backed Wagner for his celebrations. Wright said he believed Monk deliberately stepped into Wagner’s path, sparking the confrontation. Continue reading “IAN WRIGHT HITS OUT AT GARRY MONK FOR BURST UP”

Rodwell Hoping to Revive Career under David Moyes

Jack Rodwell was once regarded as the best young English talent and it was not surprising to see him linked with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City quite heavily.

Everton resisted any interest from these clubs when David Moyes was their manager. However, it was becoming increasingly apparent that they would not be able to hold on to the highly rated English talent for a long. After a lot of persistence from City, Rodwell made the move to the Etihad stadium even though he was about that first-team football would be a lot tougher than at Goodison Park.

Competition for places was extremely intense at City and they had the ability to bring in a new player for each position almost every summer. This coupled with the player’s own injury problems meant that he was able to make only 25 appearances in his two seasons with City. The club were aware of his injury problems that started to appear during the 2011-12 campaign. Even though they took a gamble, they were not rewarded and Rodwell left for Sunderland in order to revive his career. Now, the player is hoping to do exactly the same after being reunited with David Moyes.

SAM ALLARDYCE: JACK RODWELL DESERVED A CHANCE

Sunderland boss, Sam Allardyce has admitted that Jack Rodwell deserved a chance in the match against West Bromwich Albion in the English Premiership League. Rodwell played well in all three previous matches for the club prior to the West Brom game but was an unused substitute in the match.

The 25-year old midfielder was dropped for Lee Cattermole who returned as captain of the team despite being missing in action for some time. Allardyce said he faced a tough decision and agreed it would have been disappointing for the young player.

“It was a very tough decision. Jack’s had his best run of performances probably since he joined the club but, for me, Catts just provided that energy that drives on the rest of the team. It was the first time I’ve taken a player out of the side who didn’t deserved to be out the side,” Sam told reporters. Continue reading “SAM ALLARDYCE: JACK RODWELL DESERVED A CHANCE”

Former Chelsea winger Juan Mata has claimed that rivals cannot buy into the history that Manchester United enjoyed. This statement is seen as a dig at his former club and also to the likes of Manchester City. Mata enjoyed a renaissance at United under Louis van Gaal in the last few months of the 2014-15 season. The Spaniard was frozen out of the first team following the arrival of Angel di Maria for a club record transfer fee of £ 60 million. The drop in form of the Argentine helped Mata secure a return to the first-team.
