Tottenham Hotspur has handed total transfers control over to Mauricio Pochettino

A few weeks ago Mauricio Pochettino unveiled his desire to have total control concerning which player joins and leaves Tottenham Hotspur and the words of the Argentine manager were heard as Pochettino is now the man who has to approve every single player who leaves or enters the Premier League club.

Mauricio Pochettino is even expected to guide the recruitment operations of the club during the approaching summer transfer window.

The chairman Daniel Levy, the technical director Franco Baldini and the chief scout Ian Broomfield all were involved in the transfers that were done in Tottenham Hotspur but now with this recent switch of roles, almost everything will be done by Mauricio Pochettino as the Argentine manager wants to be in absolute control of everything that is going on in relation to the departure or arrival of his players.

Neither Franco Baldini nor Daniel Levy can sign players without the authorization of Mauricio Pochettino.

The departure of Luka Modric to Real Madrid was a transfer that Mauricio Pochettino did not want to happen but nonetheless it still occurred but from now on out, things of this nature will not happen as Pochettino has the final say.

Pochettino expressed his concern in relation to some of the previous transfers that has occurred with Tottenham Hotspur in the past few seasons as the Argentine manager said: “The chairman proposed a challenge to increase Tottenham’s competitive level, but immediately Luka Modric left and we didn’t get any of the targets I had identified, such as Joao Moutinho, Willian, Oscar or Leandro Damiao. These were promises that were not kept. I had a group of players I had not chosen. In two years, I lost Rafael van der Vaart, Modric, Bale, and all the promises made were unfulfilled.”

Mauricio Pochettino now has to prove that this recent switch of roles at the Premier League club was a good one as the manager has the task and responsibility of signing talented players that can help the club continue aiming for the top spots of the Premier League and win important pieces of silverware.
